Sovani Art
Sovani is a passionate minimalist artist based in Copenhagen, specializing in 3D art sculptures on canvas. With a background in English studies from Copenhagen University, she has always been driven by a desire to create pieces that evoke emotions and inspire introspection.
Her art is deeply inspired by the contrast between calmness and roughness in life. Sovani believes that within every moment of serenity lies the potential for complexity, and vice versa. This duality motivates her to explore the intricate connections we share and the serenity that art can bring into our lives. Through her work, she offers a glimpse into her journey of self-discovery, growth, and the pursuit of beauty in simplicity.
The Story Behind My Art
“At the heart of my 3D canvas sculptures lies a dialogue between control and freedom, structure and fluidity. Each fold, crease, and contour represents a moment of tension between the desire for order and the acceptance of life’s unpredictability. My work explores the dualities that shape our experiences—how something that appears rigid can evoke softness, how complexity can emerge from simplicity, and how imperfections hold beauty.
Inspired by the natural world, my sculptures aim to capture the organic flow of movement, as though the canvas itself is breathing, swaying, or bending under an unseen force. Yet, beneath the flowing shapes is a foundation of stillness, a minimalistic base that allows the viewer to focus on the subtleties within each fold, each shadow.
For me, these pieces are a meditation on transformation. The process of sculpting is not about chasing perfection, but rather allowing the material to guide me—each curve a reflection of letting go. The folds embody the path of least resistance, much like how life’s unexpected turns often lead us to the most meaningful places.
Through my art, I invite viewers to contemplate the spaces between control and surrender, chaos and calm, and to find a moment of reflection in the quiet yet expressive forms. My sculptures aren’t just about what you see but how they make you feel—an invitation to pause and find beauty in the imperfect, the evolving, and the serene moments of life.” Sovani
